Amazon Web Services wins $724 mn contract from U.S. Navy

Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon.com’s cloud computing division, has won a five-year enterprise software license contract worth $723.9 million from the United States Navy.

Navy will have access to Amazon Web Services cloud platform, Professional Services and its training and certification courses, Reuters news report said.

Earlier this month, the Pentagon awarded cloud contracts worth $9 billion to Google, AWS, Microsoft and Oracle as part of the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability contract.

The Pentagon said work will be performed for a maximum of five years from December this year through 2028.
