1. AI-Enhanced Cloud Revenue

SAP’s cloud revenue rose 22 percent to €5.29 billion, with Cloud ERP Suite revenue up 26 percent to €4.59 billion. These increases reflect strong adoption of AI-enabled capabilities embedded in SAP S/4HANA Cloud and other cloud solutions. Features such as AI-driven process automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent business workflows are helping clients accelerate operations and make data-driven decisions, driving higher subscription volumes and recurring revenue.

The current cloud backlog grew 23 percent to €18.84 billion, demonstrating sustained demand for SAP’s AI-powered enterprise applications and cloud services.

2. Intelligent Automation and Business Transformation

AI is central to SAP’s RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP offerings, which guide customers through end-to-end digital transformation:

Companies like BMW, Clorox, Nestle, and NYK Line went live on SAP S/4HANA Cloud, leveraging AI capabilities for intelligent finance, supply chain, and HR management.

SAP’s AI-driven automation tools help customers reduce operational complexity, optimize resource use, and improve decision-making speed, increasing both cloud adoption and customer stickiness.

3. Strategic AI Partnerships

SAP has expanded its AI ecosystem through strategic collaborations:

SAP + OpenAI: Bringing AI capabilities to Germany’s public sector to enable smarter government services.

SAP + Google Cloud: Launch of SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Google BigQuery, offering AI-powered analytics and zero-copy data sharing.

SAP + AWS: Extending Sovereign Cloud capabilities with AI-driven data security and compliance, enabling faster migration to cloud-based systems.

These partnerships enhance SAP’s AI offering and make its cloud solutions more attractive to enterprise clients, boosting subscriber growth and cloud revenue predictability.

4. AI Impact on Profitability and Margins

AI adoption supports efficiency in SAP’s cloud operations:

IFRS cloud gross margin rose 1.5 points to 74.6 percent, reflecting higher-margin AI-enabled solutions.

Non-IFRS operating profit grew 14 percent to €2.57 billion, aided by subscription-based AI services and automation.

AI-driven efficiencies not only increase revenue but also improve profitability and cash flow, which SAP expects to reach €8.0–8.2 billion in 2025.

5. Global Subscriber Expansion

AI capabilities are a key factor in SAP’s expanding global subscriber base, with strong adoption across APJ, EMEA, and the Americas. Countries such as Brazil, France, Germany, India, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Spain, and the U.S. have shown outstanding cloud uptake, driven by AI-enhanced solutions that simplify business operations and accelerate digital transformation.

Summary

AI has become a cornerstone of SAP’s growth strategy, contributing to:

Cloud revenue growth of 22 percent, with Cloud ERP Suite up 26 percent

Expansion of recurring, predictable revenue, now representing 87 percent of total revenue

Improved margins and operating profit via AI-enabled automation and analytics

Global subscriber growth, supported by RISE with SAP, GROW with SAP, and AI-powered partner solutions

SAP’s AI investments, combined with strategic partnerships and cloud transformation programs, are fueling revenue growth, customer adoption, and long-term competitive advantage.
