A key highlight is the 11 percent increase in Kroger’s online sales, driven by a growing number of digitally engaged households and increased web traffic. Kroger’s does not reveal the number of online users on its digital platforms.

Kroger’s success lies in converting app and website users into active e-commerce shoppers, with the number of e-commerce households expanding by 14 percent in Q2. This indicates Kroger’s success in integrating digital platforms into its core operations.

Kroger Delivery has also been a standout, achieving a 17 percent rise in delivery sales. This growth is attributed to customer fulfillment centers, which are enhancing the premium delivery experience for customers. The company’s investment in these centers has boosted not only delivery sales but overall e-commerce household growth.

Kroger’s emphasis on customer experience through digital transformation is evident in its use of AI to optimize pickup services. By leveraging AI for dynamic batching and routing, Kroger has reduced pickup lead times to two hours across all stores. This has led to a 10 percent growth in pickup sales, alongside improvements in order accuracy and customer satisfaction, reflected in a 33 percent boost in perfect orders.
