Toll Collect selects T-Systems

Toll Collect has entrusted the Telekom subsidiary with operating the IT for the truck toll system in Germany. T-Systems prevailed over its competitors in a tender process. T-Systems has been managing the IT landscape for Toll Collect since 2005 – most recently at the data center in Munich. Now, the Telekom subsidiary is moving the applications to a private cloud at the data center locations in Magdeburg and Biere. The contract corresponds to a three-digit million figure of euros. It has a term of eight years with an option to extend for four years.

Proximus and Thales secure NATO contract

Proximus and Thales have secured a significant NATO contract to modernize the alliance’s IT infrastructure. Under the agreement with the NATO Communications and Information Agency, the companies will manage and operate NATO’s core network until the end of 2029. Thales will deliver secure cloud infrastructure, while Proximus will upgrade Wi-Fi at NATO sites in the Netherlands and Belgium and supply 5,000 laptops. Though financial terms were not disclosed, Belgian newspaper L’Echo estimates the deal could exceed €100 million ($113.9 million).
