Cisco signs Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR for Big Data biz

Cisco announced its software resale agreements with Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR for their Apache Hadoop Data Management capabilities and innovation.

The agreement includes marketing, sales and training worldwide. Partners can select Hadoop solutions for their partner of choice on the Cisco Global Price List.

The combination of the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) and Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) provides platform for Hadoop based applications. Apache Hadoop YARN, the data operating system within Hadoop, makes it possible to store a pool of data in one cluster and access them with a variety of processing engines.

Cisco and MapR together will deliver a high performance, utility grade Hadoop offerings to help businesses transform volumes of data into actionable information.

The company also announced the availability of Cisco UCS Directors Express for big data offers a single touch deployment and management tool for Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR and provides centralized management and visibility access both hardware and software.

Cisco Data Virtualization solution is agile data integration software that make it easy to abstract and view the data and deliver it into a Hadoop cluster for cost effective processing and data management.

The increased scaling of the Hadoop cluster can be accelerated with an integrated hardware and software purchase. This will yield faster time to results while lowering the overall cost of storing data. Channel partners can benefit from existing Cisco data center channel promotions and also have the opportunity to tap into the fast growing big data market opportunity.
