IT services and software major Wipro will increase salary for eligible employees, effective June 1, 2016.
The Bangalore-based Wipro says the average salary hike will be 9.5 percent for offshore employees and 2 percent for onsite employees.
“Wipro will be offering substantially higher increases in their compensation to high performers,” said Saurabh Govil, chief human resources officer at Wipro.
The technology company did not disclose how many techies are eligible for the hike or gave breakup of how many of them are located at offshore and onsite, with clients or at its overseas development facilities.
The company’s IT services business added 2,248 people in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015-16, taking its headcount to 172,219 from 158,217 in Q4 2014-15.
