IT services provider Wipro said the number of employees has increased to 185,243 in September quarter from 181,804 in June quarter.
Wipro has hired 3,000 fresh employees in the September quarter taking the total headcount to 1.85 lakh employees.
Wipro has also hired 439 laterals during the same period. Wipro said it has given 100 percent variable payout to its employees in the second quarter. Wipro said its employee utilization has improved 140 basis points to 76.4 percent.
Wipro said it would give promotions to high-performers in December. Wipro said some 80 percent of its total employees would be covered under this year’s promotion plan.
