Unisys subsidiaries in Belgium and Italy, as part of a consortium, have won a multi-million euros contract to deliver IT services and support for the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
The new contract will run for three years with the option to extend it for an additional three years.
The consortium, consisting of Unisys Italia, Unisys Belgium and MAPS Spa, will work with EFSA to modernize its infrastructure and applications.
Starting with an analysis of EFSA’s current IT requirements, the consortium will deliver technology to improve communications and transparency for its stakeholders – such as consumer groups and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) – and to meet the future needs of the organization.
The consortium will also provide end user services for around 470 EFSA employees, including IT service management, service desk and desk-side support to assist them in their day-to-day operations, including the delivery of independent scientific advice and communications on risks related to food in the EU.
