Software AG names IBM veteran Sanjay Brahmawar as CEO

IT services company Software AG has appointed IBM veteran Sanjay Brahmawar as the new chief executive officer.

Sanjay Brahmawar succeeds Karl-Heinz Streibich, who will step down after more than 14 years at the top at Software AG.

The Germany-based technology outsourcing company said Karl-Heinz Streibich has built the company’s digital division, a second robust business division, assisting the company in ensuring revenue growth. Software AG has nearly 4,600 employees worldwide and revenues of €879 million in 2017.

“This achievement deserves our utmost gratitude and respect,” said Andreas Bereczky, chairman of Software AG.

Some of the focus areas of Software AG will be digitalization, Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence (A).
Sanjay Brahmawar is currently general manager Global Revenue of IBM Watson Internet of Things at Munich, Germany — responsible for global software sales with a focus on data analysis and artificial intelligence.

Previously, he served as general manager at IBM Consulting Services in London responsible for the business in the European industrial sector focusing on oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, electronics and engineering.

Sanjay Brahmawar has an international and multicultural background with experience in Germany, England, Holland, Belgium, Finland and India. Sanjay Brahmawar was born in India and has Belgian nationality.
