Serco Global Services launches new center in South Africa

Infotech Lead India:  Serco has opened its new business process outsourcing (BPO) delivery center in Cape Town, South Africa.  The new center is a 500 seater located in the Cape Town Central Business District. It will serve a range of international and domestic customers in sectors such as banking, insurance and retail.

Serco has 100 global BPO centers across geographies, including the United Kingdom, India and Poland, that offer high quality English and other European language skills to serve Serco’s customers around the world.

In September last year Serco announced its plan  to increase its headcount and create 850 new positions in its Agra facility to service clients within the telecom vertical, providing a range of telecom services in India. With the addition of 850 employees at the center, Serco has established itself as the largest provider of BPO services with almost 2000 employees in Agra.

Serco’s new BPO center in Shimoga to offer services to a top telecom operator

Serco also opened a new facility at Shimoga in Karnataka in September. The facility will offer BPO services to a leading private telecom service provider. The facility is expected to generate employment opportunities for 450 people by November; of this 300 have already been hired. The launch of this facility strengthens its regional footprint in Southern India and further enhances Serco’s India presence to 20 centers.

Last year was Serco was awarded a five year production and engineering services contract in support of the United States Navy’s Automated Digital Network Systems (ADNS), with a total value of $68 million.

Serco reported a total revenue growth of 5.7 percent to £4.9bn; growth of 6.2 percent at constant currency in 2012. 40 percent of total revenue growth in Serco’s global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) business increases non-frontline services to 15 percent of the Group’s portfolio.
