NTT DATA inks ERP service deal with Daimler

IT services provider NTT DATA has announced a multi-year ERP support services deal with Daimler, an automaker.

NTT DATA will cover all template-based applications including Operations, BASIS and Development services. NTT DATA did not share the size of the ERP deal.

Early last year, Daimler selected Infosys, T-Systems, IBM, etc. for several key IT contracts.

For instance, Daimler selected Infosys for managing its IT infrastructure services and datacenters in Europe. This apart, T-Systems, a Deutsche Telekom company, signed large IT systems integration with Daimler. In addition, Daimler subsidiary moovel has tapped cloud infrastructure from SoftLayer, an IBM company, for its car-sharing mobile application.

NTT DATA

NTT DATA will work with the Shared Services Centres of Daimler, in Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India (MBRDI) Bangalore, and Mercedes-Benz Turk, Istanbul, to provide application support service for ERP templates.

Daimler has recently created the Shared Services Centres to increase the support to ensure in meeting the growing global IT requirements. They will be handling 75 percent of all ERP -related support requests and bringing in external expertise, such as NTT DATA, to help them deliver this.

Naoshi Yoshida, head – Global Automotive and Enterprise Sales, NTT DATA, Tokyo, Japan, said, “With this contract, we will be able to further scale up and accelerate our presence in the APAC markets, strengthen our client base in India, enhance our expertise and business knowledge of Automakers and other manufacturing industries.”
