Infotech Lead India: IT and product engineering services company MindTree is planning to hire more resources in its new U.S. Development Center (USDC) in Gainesville Florida.

MindTree’s U.S. Development Center will bring 400 new jobs to the Gainesville area. MindTree is hiring from the University of Florida and other universities across the country.

“MindTree has been successful in our hiring efforts here in Florida because demand from new and existing clients is so great. Our onshore options are attractive to our existing clients and for many of our new clients who would like to move to the U.S., we offer competitive cost differentiation,” said Joelle Smith, general manager for MindTree’s U.S. Development Center.

Joelle leads MindTree’s expansion of its U.S. presence and cultivate new IT and engineering talent in the region.

“Things couldn’t be going more smoothly for MindTree’s USDC. We’ve moved out of our provisional building, our trainees are getting up to speed quickly and we are ahead of most of our target completion dates,” said Scott Staples, president – Americas, MindTree.

“MindTree is also very pleased with the feedback we have received from our clients.  Being able to offer them onshore support and services will be mutually beneficial as our presence grows in Gainesville and as we reinforce our partnership with the University of Florida.  It is an exciting time here at MindTree,” Staples added.

MindTree’s new U.S. Development Center is its first outside of India and is part of the company’s strategy to broaden its IT and software consulting offerings to its clients in the states. MindTree is renovating and repurposing an existing structure located across from Gainesville’s Innovation Hub and Innovation Square, providing it with close access to the University of Florida’s College of Computer Science and Engineering.
