Kerala signs Rs 1,200 crore IT project

Technopark and the US-based project investors Taurus on Wednesday signed an agreement for the Rs 1,200 crore IT/ITeS investment project — Taurus Downtown Technopark — in Technopark Phase III.

This project is envisaged to provide 25,000 direct IT jobs and was inked in the presence of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Erik R Rijnbout, president of Taurus Investment Holdings LLC USA, Ajay Prasad, country managing director of Taurus India and Technopark CEO K G Girish Babu.

The Taurus Downtown Technopark project will come up on 19.73 acres of land sanctioned by the government on a 90 year lease to Taurus.

In addition to IT infrastructure, the IT project will also have retail space, hotels and an innovation zone with plug and play office facility for start-ups and small businesses.
