Infosys today announced revenue of $2.831 billion (+6.8 percent) and net profit of $534 million for the first quarter ended June 30, 2018.
The IT services company reported digital revenue of $803 million (+25.6 percent), representing 28.4 percent of total revenues.
“The strong revenue and margin performance in this quarter shows that our dual emphasis on Agile Digital and AI-driven Core services is resonating with our clients,” said Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys.
Infosys said the number of $100 million plus clients increased to 24.
Infosys generated 31.8 percent revenue from financial services, 16.6 percent from Retail, 12.7 percent from Communication, 12.4 percent from Energy, Utilities, Resources & Services, 9.6 percent from Manufacturing, 7.4 percent from Hi Tech and 6.6 percent from Life Sciences.
North America generated 60 percent, Europe 24.3 percent, India 2.6 percent and Rest of the world 13.1 percent revenue, Infosys said.
Infosys has a total employee base of 209,905 in June quarter as compared with 204,107 in the previous quarter. The number of software professionals at Infosys rose to 197,637 from 192,179.
