Infosys announced the formation of a joint venture with Hitachi, Panasonic Corporation and Pasona as part of the strategy to enhance its presence in Japan.
Infosys will acquire 81 percent stake in Hitachi Procurement Service, a 100 percent subsidiary of Hitachi. Hitachi, Panasonic and Pasona will be minority shareholders of the entity.
Hitachi Procurement Service currently handles indirect materials purchasing functions for the Hitachi Group.
Infosys will bring its global expertise in procurement processes, consulting, analytics and digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to the venture.
Ravi Kumar, president of Infosys, said, “This joint venture will help Japanese corporations transform their procurement processes using digital platforms.”
