Infosys BPO sets up delivery center in Costa Rica for P&G

Infotech Lead America: Infosys BPO has set up delivery center in San José, Costa Rica to provide strategic sourcing and procurement services for FMCG major Procter & Gamble (P&G).

The center’s 100+ employees initially will work for P&G.

Last week, P&G said it would open a new supply-chain planning center in Costa Rica for its entire operation in Latin America. The new facilities mean an investment of $5-6 million and the creation of 500 new jobs for engineers, business administrators and logistics and customs specialists.

The center will consolidate supply-chain planning of 25 company operations on the continent.
P&G has operated in the country since 1999 and chose Costa Rica again after evaluating several other countries.

The new delivery center is part of Infosys’ expansion into Latin America.


Infosys in a statement said it will soon offer the entire range of BPO services in Costa Rica for its global clients, in areas including finance and accounting, human resources management, analytics, legal processes, customer relationship services, marketing, and supply chain management.

Infosys investment is significant for Costa Rica.

We’re addressing not only our global clients here but also Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking markets as we drive business growth in the region.”

Recently, Infosys BPO said Gautam Thakkar will be the new CEO and MD of the company. Swami Swaminathan, the current CEO, will be retiring on April 30.
