According to a contract signed by the two partners January-end, 87 employees of a.s.r. will be transferred to the IT bellwether’s BPO subsidiary.

“As a.s.r. needs to focus on its core business, we will streamline its operations and enable seamless running of its business processes,” said Infosys BPO chief executive Anup Uppadhayay.

The IT outsourcing firm will also leverage its expertise and domain knowledge of managing financial services processes for global firms to support a.s.r in transforming its pensions administration.

“We have selected Infosys BPO to run our pensions back-office, improve our client services and be more cost-effective,” a.s.r. chief executive Jos Baeten said in the statement.

The Utrecht-based a.s.r. offers a range of financial products, covering non-life, life and income protection insurance, group and individual pensions, health insurance and travel and leisure and funeral insurance.
