HCL today said it will set up a global IT development and training centre at Vijayawada, India.
HCL aims to hire 5,000 local residents in the region for the centre that will also work on developing innovative technologies for global clients. HCL will offer training program to the selected candidates on skills for working for global customers of HCL.
Chandrababu Naidu, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and Shiv Nadar, founder and chairman of HCL today signed an MoU to open the IT development center.
The creation of global IT development centre in Vijayawada is in line with HCL’s strategy to expand and create opportunities in non-metro cities. HCL has launched similar initiatives in Lucknow and Madurai in the past.
