Firstsource BPO employees dip to 31,872 as it shuts down 2 centers in India

Infotech Lead India: BPO major Firstsource Solutions’ employee strength reduced to 31,872 in the fourth quarter of FY 2013 against 31,902 in Q3 FY 2013 as it has shut down two centers in India.

Q4 annualized attrition in Offshore (India and Philippines) has decreased to 49.2 percent from 59.4 percent in the previous quarter.

Firstsource’s attrition in Onshore (US and Europe) decreased to 34.4 percent from 35.8 percent in the previous quarter.

The attrition was the highest in domestic at 87.9 percent compared to 86.0 percent in the previous quarter.

Firstsource had 30,086 employees in March 31, 2012.

On year-to-year basis, Firstsource had a net addition of 1,786 employees during the year. But 614 employees were reduced in India, while it added 2,400 employees outside India.

The company reduced two centers in India and added one delivery center in the U.K.

As of March 31, 2013 Firstsource has 47 centers, compared to 48 as on March 31, 2012.

Meanwhile, Firstsource has posted Q4 FY 2013 revenues of Rs 7,125 million, up 14.6 percent.

Q4 profit rose 74.2 percent to Rs 402 million.

For the full year, Firstsource’s revenue increased 25 percent to Rs 28,185 million, while its profit rose 136.3 percent to Rs 1,466 million.

As of March 31, 2013 Firstsource derived 46 percent revenues from the US, 34 percent from UK and 20 percent from Rest of World, including India.

As of March 31, 2013 Firstsource derived 44 percent from Telecom & Media, 32 percent from Healthcare, 24 percent from BFSI and 1 percent from others.
