New England Healthcare Exchange Network (NEHEN) has selected Cognizant and its subsidiary TriZetto to digitally transform and manage its technology infrastructure.

Seamless collaboration across member organizations, optimize costs, and improve efficiency and patient care are some of the target areas for NEHEN, said Cognizant.

New England Healthcare Exchange Network (NEHEN) is a consortium of regional payers and providers in the Northeast U.S.

Cognizant and TriZetto will enable NEHEN’s health information exchange to process more than 8 million transactions every month. NEHEN will be able to accelerate its mission of helping members streamline operations and change the way healthcare is delivered and reimbursed.

NEHEN has 40 member organizations comprised of over 55 hospitals, 8 health insurance plans and tens of thousands of practitioners.

Krish Venkat, president, Healthcare and Life Sciences at Cognizant, said: “The NEHEN consortium is an excellent example of the industry utility models that are developing across healthcare.”
