Infotech Lead India: IT and BPO major Cognizant Technology Solutions on Wednesday said its net headcount addition for the first quarter of 2013 was 6,000.
Cognizant’s revenue rose to $2.02 billion, up 18.1 percent, in the first quarter of 2013.
Net income rose to $284.2 million from $243.7 million.
Francisco D’Souza, CEO of Cognizant, said: “We continue to make solid progress developing emerging offerings in new markets, new SMAC technologies, and new non-linear solutions and services.”
Recently, Cognizant launched Cognizant BusinessCloud solutions that enable clients to deploy a range of business and IT solutions and to forgo costly capital outlays and lengthy implementation timelines.
Cognizant’s second quarter 2013 revenue is expected to reach $2.13 billion.
Fiscal 2013 revenue is expected to be around $8.60 billion, up 17 percent compared to 2012.
