German airline major Lufthansa Group has selected CGI for the delivery of infrastructure and digitalization services.
CGI, as part of the 5-year IT deal, will manage Lufthansa Group’s traditional infrastructure functions, such as its data center operations and workplace/network services, as well as assist the company in implementing its digital strategy.
CGI, which did not disclose the financial details of the technology outsourcing deal, will assume responsibility for the IT infrastructure operation of Lutfhansa AirPlus, providing services from CGI locations in Sulzbach, Erfurt, Bremen, Bangalore (India), as well as locally in Neu-Isenburg.
CGI will assist Lufthansa AirPlus to optimize its cost structure, and benefit from innovation and expertise in the modernization of its IT landscape.
“This partnership is the starting point for future infrastructure and application management projects that we plan to implement together with CGI,” said Roland Schutz, CIO at Lufthansa Group.
