Cbeyond appoints new chief marketing officer


Cbeyond, a provider of cloud and network services to SMEs, has appointed Paul Carmody as chief marketing officer of the company.

In this new role, Carmody will drive the company’s strategy to offer businesses a tailored path to the latest technology using its network and the cloud as the framework.

Carmody joins Cbeyond’s core leadership team, which comprises VPof Cloud Engineering and Development Tim Myers, VP of Cloud Services Chris Ortbals and VP of Professional Services Matt Stevens.

“Paul Carmody has been at the forefront of technology innovation in his recent positions. We’re confident in his ability to drive greater value for businesses looking for an ally to navigate today’s complex technology decisions,” said Jim Geiger, president and chief executive officer of Cbeyond, Inc.

Carmody is a seasoned high-tech and cloud veteran and possesses nearly two decades of IT marketing, product development and customer relations experience.

Speaking on his appointment, Carmody said, “I saw an opportunity with Cbeyond to deliver that value to businesses in a manner that relieves the burden from their shoulders. Using Cbeyond’s enterprise-class network as the on-ramp, we can deliver services to customers and transition them to the cloud securely and cost-effectively.”

Prior to Cbeyond, Carmody was serving as the senior vice president of product management and business development at Internap. At Internap, Carmody oversaw the company’s managed and cloud hosting, collocation and enterprise IP and CDN units.

Before Internap, Carmody was senior vice president of marketing, product and strategy at Broadlane.
