Infotech Lead Asia: Capgemini has appointed Douglas Charles as CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions, a member of the Capgemini group.
Charles will drive strategy and growth for Capgemini with U.S. public sector clients, especially in the areas of unemployment insurance, business information, independent verification and validation, and consulting services.
Doug’s experience in technology consulting in both the public and private sectors, added by his knowledge of Capgemini’s solutions and technologies across the globe, reinforces Capgemini’s ability to serve the public sector in the United States.

Prior to this new appointment, Charles served as a vice president in the Capgemini Applications Services business unit in North America focused on a number of areas, including market development, alliances, and services offerings.
Charles rejoined Capgemini in 2010 after working for five years at SAIC, where after growing the company’s consulting and technical services to over a $150 million service line, he was promoted to lead SAIC’s 3,000 person, $500 million global commercial operations.
Prior to joining SAIC, Charles spent 11 years with Ernst & Young and Capgemini in various roles, including senior account executive for some of Capgemini’s key energy and utilities accounts. He helped establish the telecommunications offerings for Ernst & Young, and later served as a vice president and account executive for Capgemini’s Emerging Markets Telecommunications practice.
