Accenture has won a contract from the Sardinia Government to assist the Regional Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training to develop Public Employment Services (PES).
In a statement, Accenture said it will provide management consulting and technology services to help the Ministry integrate education, vocational training and employment processes and services.
By digitizing administrative processes and improving information sharing between labor market stakeholders, the Ministry will be able to offer personalized and efficient services to jobseekers and employers. It also will be better able to analyze labor market data to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of programs and policies.
Completing the PES transformation program will enable the Ministry to reorganize, modernize and create innovative labor and unemployment services that are appropriate for today’s market.
Gianmario Pisanu, who leads Accenture’s Health & Public Service business in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, said: “Leveraging the latest technology to streamline processes and increase coordination of services will improve response times, strengthen the ability to match vacancies to job seekers’ skills.”
Sardinia is one of five autonomous regions of Italy, with a population of more than 1.6 million. Rising unemployment following the global economic recession led the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training to launch a broad Public Employment Services (PES) transformation program.
The project will leverage Accenture’s extensive experience working with human services agencies globally as well as its Integrated Virtual Labor Market (IVLM) approach, which combines a set of assets and IT solutions designed to help clients improve quality services and efficiencies related to employment.
