London Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) have selected Accenture  as the Application Management Services provider to MPS.

Under the five-year contract,  Accenture will help the MPS increase its use of digital technologies, including mobile and analytics solutions.  The company will also facilitate increased digital interaction between police and citizens.

“As part of our integrated multi-supplier delivery model, Accenture will help us to move to a more-modern, flexible IT environment, enabling us to reduce costs and improve the technology available to help our officers serve the public,” said Chris Naylor, Digital Policing lead at the Metropolitan Police Service.

Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture will help the MPS manage its core information technology applications, including enhancing core applications and rationalizing the application portfolio.

The work will be delivered from the Accenture Delivery Center in Newcastle, which is part of the Accenture Global Delivery Network, and from a location in London. Approximately 60 new technology roles will be created in Newcastle as a result.
