Infotech Lead America: Accenture has launched a new Center of Excellence for Oracle Engineered Systems, hosted by the Accenture Innovation Centers for Oracle to help enable faster and cost-effective implementation of Oracle solutions for Accenture’s clients.
Accenture is a Diamond level partner in Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). Its virtual center aims to accelerate the development, delivery and commercialization of business solutions based on Oracle’s Engineered Systems, including Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud and Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine. These services will be provided to clients through a flexible, elastic cloud platform enabled by Oracle’s cloud technologies.
The new Accenture Center of Excellence for Oracle enables clients to test their workloads on Oracle Engineered Systems to understand how a similar setup would accelerate their enterprise applications and strengthen analytics capabilities for performance and business benefits before investing heavily in these systems.
Oracle Exadata Database Machine comprises a package of servers, storage, networking and software that can help deliver performance, scalability, and reliability. It is backed by Oracle Support. The package is designed to be a cost effective hardware platform to run and consolidate databases, data warehouses, and On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) applications.
Oracle Exalogic brings together hardware and software to provide performance, reliability and scalability for Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Applications, while delivering lower total cost of ownership (TCO), reduced risk and higher user productivity.
Accenture has built a number of offerings to complement Oracle’s Engineered Systems. For example, Accenture Foundation Platform for Oracle (AFPO), which enables clients to accelerate application deployments on Oracle Fusion Middleware. AFPO uses Oracle VM to provide a snapshot of the data center environment. The Exalogic ready pre-tested, integrated and configured images, based on Oracle Fusion Middleware, helps to significantly reduce the implementation effort.
The center will provide clients with process-specific business solutions, thought leadership around existing and emerging Oracle solution-based technology, including several of Accenture’s solutions based on Oracle technology. Accenture’s Oracle enterprise solutions practice employs more than 52,000 consultants around the world to provide implementation, upgrade and application outsourcing solutions for the Oracle product suite.
