IT services provider Accenture announced its deal to acquire Boomerang Pharmaceutical Communications, a digital marketing agency head-quartered in Basel, Switzerland — serving the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical-device industries.
Accenture did not disclose the details of the transaction for buying Boomerang.
Accenture aims to strengthen its digital consulting and digital marketing services in Europe with the acquisition.
Boomerang has more than 80 employees in offices in Mulhouse, France; Parsippany, New Jersey (United States); and Dublin, Ireland — providing digital strategy, digital marketing services, web-site development and site promotion for the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical-device industries for more than 17 years.
“Pharmaceutical companies are using external resources to build and operate global and scalable digital marketing and sales organizations that can design experiences that customers and patients find engaging, helpful and exciting,” said Andrea Brueckner, Europe and Latin America lead for Accenture’s Life Sciences practice.
Accenture has made several acquisitions in the past 12 months to boost its digital marketing and design capabilities.
AD.Dialeto, a digital agency in Brazil; Chaotic Moon, a creative technology studio in the United States; Pacific Link, digital agencies serving Hong Kong and Greater China; Brightstep, a provider of digital content and commerce solutions in Sweden; and Reactive Media, a digital agency in Australia — are now part of Accenture’s digital business.
Accenture and Adobe deal
Meanwhile, Accenture and Adobe will deliver digital marketing solutions for life science, healthcare, and financial services organizations in North America and Europe.
Accenture and Adobe will develop technology services to help customers drive marketing performance and efficiency under a new 3-year agreement.
Adobe and Accenture will create a team with digital marketing experience, sales personnel, and developers to integrate Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions with digital marketing services from Accenture Interactive, and apply Accenture’s knowledge of the life science, healthcare, and financial services industries.
Accenture will also invest in growing its Adobe practice to deliver digital marketing solutions to clients.
