Teradata improves big data capabilities with recent acquisitions

Teradata is making major strides in big data with two recent acquisitions.

One of the recent acquisitions, Revelytix, is a specialist in information management products for big data with metadata management technology and expertise in integrating information across the enterprise.

Revelytix acquisition brings to Teradata new data management and data preparation tools in Hadoop, as it delivers integrated metadata, lineage, and data wrangling all in a single software solution, the company said.

On July 17th, Teradata acquired assets of Hadapt with its big data technology and intellectual property capabilities.

Following the acquisitions Revelytix and Hadapt employees as well as key assets will be added to Teradata.

Scott Gnau, president, Teradata Labs, said, “The addition of the key assets of these companies underscores Teradata’s commitment to continued innovation and customer value, extends our big data portfolio, and enhances the Teradata Unified Data Architecture.”

Teradata’s investment in big data technologies, including investments in Teradata Aster and Hadoop, complements Teradata’s data warehouse offerings and help customers unlock the value within big data, the company said.
