Teradata said its big data solutions will support Siemens AG to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
Siemens will be able to combine and analyze data from sensors, the manufacturing process, and machine data, along with data from various source systems.
Michael May, head of Technology Field Business Analytics and Monitoring, said: “Transforming big data into smart data will allow us to optimize the quality of our products and can provide our customers with improved service.”
Siemens Corporate Technology group will deploy a Teradata Unified Data Architecture (Teradata UDA). The unified architecture includes a Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance, a Teradata Aster Discovery Platform, and a Teradata Appliance for Hadoop. Teradata Professional Services will assist Siemens to implement the solution and integrate various data sources, as well as training.
“The Teradata UDA makes it possible for the company to combine industrial data, including multi-structured big data, with conventional data and analyze every possible combination,” said Hermann Wimmer, president, International, Teradata.
