IBM joins hands with Yonyou Software to increase big data biz

IBM and Yonyou Software will optimize DB2 with BLU Acceleration for NC, Yonyou’s ERP, supply chain, customer relationship, and human resources software.

Headquartered in Beijing, Yonyou Software is the largest enterprise ISV in the Asia Pacific region.

The agreement between IBM and Yonyou Software is aimed at accelerating the adoption of IBM Big Data & Analytics technologies.

As part of the agreement, Yonyou will offer DB2 with BLU acceleration with NC to its customers and together IBM and Yonyou plan to develop an ecosystem covering application testing, technical help, marketing expertise, and sales support.

This apart, Yonyou has also decided to adopt IBM analytics software, such as Cognos, into its Unified Application Platform (UAP), a common computing platform for enterprises.

Sean Poulley, VP, Databases & Data Warehousing, Information Management Division, IBM, said: “The combination of NC and DB2 with BLU Acceleration will offer Yonyou customers both cost and performance advantages.”

IT market research agency IDC expects Big Data technology and services in China to grow at 38.7 percent compound annual growth rate from $165.5 million to $850 million by 2017.

IBM has invested $24 billion to build its capabilities in Big Data and Analytics through R&D and more than 30 acquisitions.
