Salesforce plans $500 mn investment in AI in Saudi Arabia

Salesforce has announced an investment of $500 million in Saudi Arabia, focusing on artificial intelligence as global competition for advancements in this critical technology intensifies. This move aligns with the broader trend of nations and corporations vying to establish a strong foothold in AI development and implementation.

As part of this initiative, Salesforce will introduce Hyperforce, its platform architecture, in Saudi Arabia. This will be achieved through a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), enabling enhanced cloud computing capabilities and improved data security. The deployment of Hyperforce is expected to support businesses in the region by providing scalable and secure AI-powered solutions.

The announcement comes at a time when regulatory scrutiny of AI has diminished, particularly following the revocation of a 2023 executive order that had placed significant guardrails around AI technology, Reuters news report said. This shift has led to a surge in new AI investment announcements worldwide, reflecting a more aggressive push towards AI development without stringent government restrictions.

Salesforce is also expanding its partnerships with major global consulting firms, including Capgemini, Deloitte, Globant, IBM, and PwC. Through these collaborations, the company aims to enhance the use of Agentforce, a product designed to improve efficiency and performance for customer service agents. Additionally, Salesforce plans to introduce Arabic language support across its AI-related product suite, making these tools more accessible to businesses and professionals in the region.

The announcement was made at LEAP 2025, Saudi Arabia’s global technology conference, where the country secured $14.9 billion in AI-related investments. This underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in the AI sector, positioning itself as a key player in the global technology landscape.

This investment builds upon Salesforce’s AI strategy in the region. Earlier this month, the company revealed plans to establish a regional headquarters in Riyadh, further cementing its commitment to the Saudi market. Additionally, Salesforce has committed to upskilling 30,000 Saudi citizens by 2030, demonstrating its dedication to fostering local talent and contributing to the kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 initiative.
