Tata Communications, in conjunction with NVIDIA, will develop an AI cloud in India, poised to serve as a critical infrastructure component for the next phase of computing. Leveraging Tata Communications’ robust global network, this AI cloud will facilitate high-speed data transfers, bringing the power of AI closer to enterprises across the nation.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a subsidiary of Tata Group, will harness the AI infrastructure to develop and process generative AI applications, fostering collaboration with customers to drive innovation with an AI-first approach. Reliance Industries, in collaboration with NVIDIA, has embarked on a mission to develop India’s own foundation large language model, tailored to the nation’s diverse languages. This model will be geared towards generative AI applications and serve as a remarkable asset for India’s burgeoning population.
The collaboration will witness the creation of AI infrastructure that surpasses the capabilities of India’s fastest supercomputer today, thanks to the utilization of the NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip and the NVIDIA DGX Cloud, an AI supercomputing service in the cloud.
Reliance Industries’ telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm, will harness this NVIDIA-powered AI infrastructure to usher in a new era of AI applications and services for its 450 million Jio customers. The infrastructure will also be made available to scientists, developers, and startups across India.
