IBM to pause hiring for 7,800 jobs as it will tap AI

International Business Machines (IBM) expects to pause hiring for roles as roughly 7,800 jobs could be replaced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the coming years, Bloomberg News reported.

IBM aims to suspend or slow the hiring of employees for the back-office functions. IBM is also planning to replace 30 percent of non-customer-facing roles by AI and automations in five years, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said.
