IBM has acquired Hakkoda Inc., a global data and AI consultancy, to strengthen IBM Consulting’s data transformation services.

Hakkoda brings capabilities in data migration, modernization, and monetization, and is a recognized Snowflake partner. The acquisition enhances IBM’s ability to meet the rising demand for data services and support clients in building efficient, AI-ready enterprise data platforms.
Hakkoda contributes a portfolio of generative AI-powered tools that accelerate data modernization and complements IBM’s consulting strength in sectors like financial services, public sector, and healthcare. The company will also support IBM’s AI-powered delivery platform, IBM Consulting Advantage.
With this acquisition, IBM aims to deliver faster value to clients undergoing AI-driven transformations. Hakkoda’s CEO Erik Duffield emphasized their commitment to shaping the AI era and highlighted the alignment with IBM’s innovation-driven approach.
