Capgemini reveals €600 mn bookings from Generative AI

Capgemini has posted total bookings of €5.222 billion, a decline of 0.8 percent, resulting in a book-to-bill ratio of 0.97. Generative AI bookings contributed around €600 million over the past nine months, accounting for about 3.5 percent of total bookings.

Capgemini’s Q3 2024 revenues stood at €5,377 million, down 1.9 percent. Demand is strong for Cloud, Data & AI/GenAI services, digital core modernization, and intelligent supply chain services as clients focus on efficiency and cost reduction.

North America revenue, which forms 28 percent of Group revenues, declined by 3.9 percent, affected by contractions in Consumer Goods & Retail, Energy & Utilities, and Public sectors. Financial Services showed improvement but still posted an overall decline.

United Kingdom & Ireland revenue grew by 0.4 percent, driven by growth in Energy & Utilities and a resilient Manufacturing sector.

France revenue dropped by 2.5 percent, with growth in the Public Sector and Telecoms, Media & Technology (TMT) offset by Manufacturing slowdowns.

Rest of Europe revenue rose by 0.6 percent, bolstered by Financial Services, Energy & Utilities, and the Public Sector.

Asia-Pacific & Latin America revenue was down 2.2 percent, with Asia-Pacific showing growth in the Public Sector but weakness in Consumer Goods & Retail and Manufacturing sectors. Latin America saw growth in Consumer Goods & Retail.

Capgemini’s total workforce reached 338,900 as of September 30, 2024, a decrease of -1.1 percent year-on-year, though it was up +0.6 percent since the end of June. Offshore employees represent 57 percent of the total workforce, with 194,400 offshore employees.

Capgemini Group CEO Aiman Ezzat highlighted a continued emphasis on operational efficiencies, cost reduction, and strong demand for Artificial Intelligence and Gen AI services as clients prioritize digital transformation programs.
