NCR assists Yorkshire Building Society to improve payment operations

NCR Corporation has announced Yorkshire Building Society will use Authentic, a payment platform from Alaric, an NCR business, to provide essential card authorization, routing and switching.

Members can use their ATM cards at their convenience while keeping IT management and operational costs under control as Authentic allows Yorkshire Building Society to perform stand-in authorizations.

This apart, society will also manage connectivity to various internal and external payments systems, networks and devices, and process Faster Payments transactions.

NCR will also provide a low-risk migration plan for a phased approach to implementation for the Society.

Yorkshire Building Society has replaced its legacy authorization system as it could not address challenges for ATM acquiring operation.

The Society said challenges include the need for Triple Data Encryption Standard (DES) connectivity to both the LINK and the Society’s own ATM networks, an upgrade to the LINK Information Security Standard; and improved functionality at the ATM to provide members with mini-statements.

Also, the other challenge includes enabling member to manage deposits, transfers and bill payments.

Yorkshire Building Society will retain its existing infrastructure and make future investments in technology without being compromised by the demands of its card authorization platform.

Last year, Ukrainian Processing Center (UPC) deployed NCR Authentic to deliver payment services across Central and Eastern Europe.

NCR Corporation launched the latest version of Authentic, its transaction processing solution from Alaric, an NCR business in May which incorporates a new browser-based POS and card management interface.
