Fortinet launches new web application firewalls

Fortinet launched FortiWeb 4000E and 3000E Web Application Firewalls designed to   protect customer data from attack and data loss.

FortiWeb appliances now offer advanced security services powered by FortiGuard Labs’ advanced threat intelligence.

Fortinet said FortiWeb 4000E and 3000E are available immediately. The new solutions are integrated with Fortinet’s FortiSandbox and offer support for new enhancements in partnership with Acunetix’s advanced vulnerability scanning solutions.

The new FortiWeb 4000E delivers 20 Gbps web application firewalls throughput and has built-in advanced anti-malware capabilities. It also integrates leading vulnerability scanning features from Acunetix.

“By virtue of continuously scanning evolving web apps and web sites with Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner, Fortinet users can now be assured that their web site security is being kept up to date regardless of what vulnerabilities could creep into their web site code through business pressures and forced short cuts in the development process,” Acunetix general manager Chris Martin said.

Last week, Fornet launched a new Software-Defined Network Security (SDNS) framework designed to provide advanced threat protection through the integration of security into the data center environment.

In August, Fortinet has launched 10GBps mid-range network security appliance, FortiGate-600D enterprise firewall, to protect mid-market and enterprise organizations from advanced cyber attacks.
