Schools rely on Extreme Networks for BYOD and Wi-Fi

Education IT administrators has selected Extreme Networks to improve network access, bandwidth control, application connectivity and analytics with its solutions platform.

According to Extreme Networks its connectivity solutions provide affordable Internet access, Wi-Fi access and features to teachers, students and administrators.

Hardin County School District in Kentucky will manage its network, gain insight into users’ applications and network behavior and provide easy network access to any mobile device for its 16,000 users leveraging Extreme’s infrastructure and analytics technology.

In addition, the Stonington Public School District has selected Extreme’s enterprise wireless network to roll out BYOD and to deploy a virtual desktop infrastructure and manage the entire infrastructure from a single screen.

Schools districts are also deploying Chromebooks to enable personalized learning, increase collaboration and to help facilitate online testing using Extreme’s infrastructure.

Extreme Network has expanded its relationship with the Pro Football Hall of Fame (PFHOF). Students can hear directly from Hall of Fame players about how to achieve success on and off the field with Heart of a Hall Famer series, powered by Extreme.

“By leveraging Extreme Networks’ technology, not only have we implemented an entire wireless network that supports BYOD, but we’ve also deployed a virtual desktop infrastructure that allows our IT team to centrally manage the entire network from a single screen,” said Jason Jones, director of Technology, Stonington Public Schools.

In March, Extreme Networks implemented Ethernet Services for Wisconsin’s premier Tier III enhanced data center in partnership with collocation services provider Data Holdings.
