Accenture and Oracle expand Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D

Accenture has expanded the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for Research and Development (R&D) powered by Oracle.

Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D has been expanded with the addition of enhanced clinical data management capabilities.

Life sciences companies can now reduce the time, effort and cost needed to take drugs from development to market by generating high quality, reliable and statistically data from data clinical traits.

Company officials said that the latest version offers the Oracle Health Sciences Data Management Workbench (DMW).

DMW includes prebuilt integrations to the Oracle Health Sciences InForm.

InForm is an electronic data capture (EDC) solution to create an end-to-end clinical data collection and management platform.

The latest release of InForm, version 6.1, enables fully integrated capabilities including coding and IRT, rapid and reliable trial builds, and self-service deployment with once click.

Also, contract research organizations can now increase the speed and accuracy of data collection, integration and analysis, achieve greater efficiency of clinical workflow and query management.

The DMW optimizes clinical data management through reusable workflows for easier global clinical trial setup and implementation.

Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D can have clean, structure ready and validated data for biostatistical analysis with DMW.

Company officials said DMW also provides efficient clinical operations, with advanced mechanisms facilitating operational re-use to streamline cleansing and transformations based on industry standards.

Life sciences organizations can also gain seamless flow of data from electronic data capture to data management to analysis.

With this collaboration, Oracle can develop and host mission-critical clinical data warehousing and analytics applications for life sciences with Accenture’s proven implementation capabilities to deliver service-based solutions.

Last year in September, IBM signed a big data deal with Caris Life Sciences. Caris Life Sciences will utilize IBM technical computing and storage technology to accelerate the company’s molecular profiling services for cancer patients.
