Accenture bags one-year IT contract from Belgian government

Accenture has bagged a one-year IT contract from Belgian government.

The scope of the IT deal is to help the Cabinet of the State Secretary for Civil Services and Modernisation of Public Services and Federal Public Service for Information and Communications Technology (Fedict) to create a strategic plan to improve government IT systems.

“We want citizens to be satisfied with the services provided by the federal government. Therefore, we need to optimize the impact of all our investments in e-government,” said Hendrik Bogaert, secretary of state for Civil Services and Modernization of Public Services.

The strategic Information plan that Accenture will deliver will challenge all institutions to share applications, investments and experiences.

As per the IT deal, Accenture will be reviewing the communications and IT functions across 32 agencies in the federal government to identify projects, opportunities and estimated costs for a comprehensive strategic plan.

The project will include: developing and understanding the three-year IT strategy for each organization; identifying areas for increased collaboration, within the federal government, by examining current and future portfolio needs across all agencies and creating a roadmap to help Fedict bridge gaps between current and future plans.

Accenture’s previous work with the Belgian government includes the modernization of the Federal Public Services’ finance system (Coperfin Reform) and implementing a biometric identification system within the prison system.
