Snap plans paid subscription model for €45.99 per year

Snap, the parent company of photo messaging app Snapchat, is testing a subscription service called Snapchat+ that would access to exclusive and pre-release features to give subscribers.

Snapchat+ would cost 4.59 euros for a one-month subscription or 45.99 euros for one year, according to screenshots posted by a user named Alessandro Paluzzi on Twitter. Alessandro Paluzzi is a mobile developer and reserve engineer.

It would be the first subscription product for Snapchat. Snapchat lets users post content stories, play games and scroll through a TikTok-like feature called Spotlight.

Snapchat has achieved 319 million daily active users (DAUs), registering 20 percent growth, during the fourth quarter of 2021. Snap reported $1.3 billion in revenue (+42 percent) with a net income of $22.6 million.

In Q4 2021, 25 different Discover partners each reached over 50 million unique Snapchatters globally, including Universal Music’s Rebel Labs, social publisher Jungle Creations’ lifestyle content, and Team Whistle’s sports content.
