Acer achieves No. 3 PC brand position in India, beating Lenovo

Acer has achieved a significant milestone by securing the No. 3 PC brand position in India, according to IDC’s Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker, 1Q2024.

Acer has captured a market share of 15.4 percent, underscoring its commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction in the Indian PC market. This accomplishment marks a crucial point in Acer’s business growth, as it climbs to the top three PC brands in the country, surpassing major competitors such as Lenovo, Asus, Apple, etc. This achievement is a testament to Acer’s strategic vision and execution in a highly competitive market.

In the commercial sector, Acer has demonstrated remarkable year-on-year growth, with a 19.9 percent increase in desktop sales and a 32.0 percent rise in notebook sales.

Ace has emerged as the leading Desktop PC brand in the Very Large Enterprise segment and has maintained its top position in the Education PC segment. These results reflect Acer’s robust performance and leadership in key market areas.

Additionally, Acer’s consumer segment has experienced impressive growth, with a 51.7 percent year-on-year increase driven by strong momentum in e-tail channels. This significant growth highlights Acer’s ability to meet the evolving needs of individual consumers through a diverse and innovative product portfolio, coupled with competitive pricing strategies.

India’s traditional PC market (inclusive of desktops, notebooks, and workstations) rose 2.6 percent to 3.07 million units in 1Q2024.

Globally, Acer is the fifth largest PC brand with 6.2 percent share in the first-quarter of 2024, IDC report said. Leading PC makers worldwide are Lenovo with 23 percent share (13.7 million units), HP with 20.1 percent share (12 million units), Dell with 15.5 percent share (9.3 million units), Apple with 8.1 percent share (4.8 million units), Asus with 6.1 percent share (3.6 million units).
