Lenovo plans data center in Asia Pacific

Lenovo plans to set up a data centre in Asia-Pacific which can serve the Asia-Pacific market, and support cloud service business around the world.

Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company (Cyberport) has joined hand with Lenovo to set up Lenovo’s first cloud service and product research and development centre in Asia-Pacific at Cyberport, Hong Kong.

Paul Chow, chairman of Cyberport and Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO of Lenovo signed the MoU.


The cloud initiative will be a good platform to emerging start-ups / research firms related to cloud computing.

The R&D centre will focus on studies in two main perspectives, including big data and enterprise-level cloud services infrastructure platform.

The R&D centre will leverage Cyberport’s advantages in geographical location, technology and talents in its cloud services offerings and innovative cloud ecosystem development.
