BPO major Aegis sets up contact center in Peru

Business Process Outsourcing major Aegis has set up its new contact center inLima,Peru.

The Essar group company is planning to hire over 800 employees in the first stages and aims to reach a headcount of 2,000 in the second year.

The site has three floors which include call center floors with over 300 positions, meeting, training and recruitment rooms and sections for Administrative employees as well as break rooms.

“We chose to grow inPerufor its ease of doing business, skilled labor market and economic and political stability. We are happy to become part of the community here and hope to offer the best customer experience to our clients,” said Aparup Sengupta, managing director and global CEO, Aegis.

The setting up of the new contact center inLimais Aegis’ second step within the region, after acquiring Actionline de Argentina in October 2010. Actionline has 5000+ employees and 5 sites spread out in different Argentine cities.

“This is an opportunity for us as we expand our presence inLatin America. We aim to further improve our position within Peru, create new work opportunities here and offer the best customer service experience to our clients,” said Sandip Sen, president of the Global Customer Life-cycle Management Business, Aegis.

“We are very happy we were able to enterPeru, which adds a new flag to the global Aegis Map. From here we will be offering our services to the internalPerumarket, and also to the off shore markets,” said Fernando Padron, country head of AegisPeru.

Aegis has selectedPerusince Peruvian industry has grown over the last years, and the market potential for voice services in Spanish is quite high, and both employment and economic development prospects are very good.
