Juniper Networks Q1 2014 result: revenue up 10%, operating loss at $6.2 million

Enterprise networking vendor Juniper Networks said its Q1 2014 revenue increased 10 percent to $1,170 million. It made a operating loss of $6.2 million against operating income of $201.4 million.

Its net income increased to $110.6 million from $91 million.

Juniper Networks said its Q1 2014 products revenue increased to $876 million from $781.8 million, while service revenue rose to $294.1 million from $277.4 million.

Juniper’s operating margin for the first quarter of 2014 decreased to 0.5 percent including $122 million of restructuring and other charges, from 15.3 percent.

“We are seeing continued demand from our customers reflecting a significant opportunity to capture share in meaningful, high-growth Cloud-Builder and High IQ networking across both service provider and enterprise markets,” said Shaygan Kheradpir, chief executive officer of Juniper Networks.

Juniper Networks today said it sharpened its focus on Cloud-Builders and High IQ networks with the ensemble of its products in routing, switching, security, network management, control and analytics.

Juniper Networks estimates that revenues for Q2 2014 will be in the range of $1,200 million to $1,230 million.
