VMware hires Red Hat executive Arun Parameswaran as managing director for India

VMware India has hired Red Hat executive Arun Parameswaran as its managing director.

Parameswara will replace T Srinivasan, who decided to step down after five years with the Cloud infrastructure company.

At Red Hat, Parameswaran was most recently GM in charge of its business throughout the Indian sub-continent. Before that, he was senior director, Global Business Development, responsible for building and managing Red Hat’s eco-system of partners across Asia Pacific and Japan.

Parameswaran will report to Sanjay Mirchandani, senior vice president and general manager for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region of VMware. He will also join the APJ Leadership Team.

Last week, VMware announced its plans to invest up to $500 million over the next three years to expand its operations in the country.
